Ice Cube Wants To Be Portrayed By His Son In ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Film

Not only is Ice Cube one of the founding members of one of the most dangerous groups in Hip Hop

ever, N.W.A., but he is also on board as a Producer for the upcoming biopic film on the group, Straight

Outta Compton. The Boombox caught up with Ice Cube recently to get the scoop on the film so far:

“I’m full-in. I’m producing it along with a few other people. We got [F.] Gary Gray to direct it and

it’s cool because he does good work. We don’t have to teach him what N.W.A. is about; he lived

it.

I’m excited. A lot of it is about the pre-production of the movie since it’s a period film. Even

though it’s just the ’80s, you gotta make sure that we have the flavor. But it’s full steam ahead.”

Casting has begun for the roles of all the members of N.W.A. and when it comes to Ice Cube’s role, he

already has someone in mind as to who he wants to be portrayed by:

“I want my son to play me. I’ma give him a shot, see what he can do.”
