Mekka Don Partners with ESPN To Release New Music

Rapper and songwriter, Mekka Don, has entered into licensing agreements with ESPN Networks for three of his songs to be played throughout the college football season. The titles of the three songs are “Time to Rumble,” “SEC,” and “HBCU.” These songs play every Saturday on the SEC Network, Big East Network, and on ESPNU during the HBCU games.

“It’s very exciting,” Mekka Don says. “I’ve always dreamed about having my music on ESPN. I am a former athlete and an avid sports fan so it feels like a perfect fit. I hope to continue my relationship with ESPN for many years to come.”

Earlier this year, Mekka Don formed a songwriting team with writing partner, Karen Thornton, named “Writer’s Block.” Together they have received over 500 music placements in TV, film, and video games, and are also writing songs for recording artists in Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B.

“Time to Rumble” and “SEC” are currently available for purchase on iTunes. Some of Mekka Don and Writer’s Block’s music can be heard on their site: http://www.writers-block-music.com/.
